Join us every second Wednesday evening for our Pilot's Shed night. The Shed is open to people of all ages who would like to share their knowledge and interest with other like minded aviators.
"Shed" meetings are structured "info tainment" sessions covering:
Combine pleasure with your hobby, bring your family to our social events.
Learn to fly like the birds with our affiliated flying school Australian Pacific Aviation
The JWSFC was created in 2016 with the generous support of the Heck family, the owners of the airfield, to provide a safe friendly low cost venue for aviators.
Our focus is on safe affordable flying. Our safety program for all pilots is provided through the Pilot's Shed every second Thursday evening at 6.30pm.
The Pilot's Shed is an opportunity for current pilots to refresh their knowledge of the theory and be kept up to date with the latest developments in technology and regulations.
The Pilot's Shed is also a learning environment for new pilots. Our experienced instructors provide theory instruction for the pilot certificate and pilot licences.
Experience counts in aviation, so does a good attitude to minimizing the risks. Our senior instructor was a former B747 captain and university lecturer in aviation.
Very few if any flying clubs provide such assistance to pilots to help them remain current and safe pilots.
Our mission is to help make it safe, but we also want to have fun. Flying in a small aircraft is just wonderful. So is mixing with people who share a common interest in aviation.
The club provides a social venue for families. Our BBQ team produces the best aviation food in the area.
We welcome pilots, wannabe pilots and anyone really interested in learning about aviation. Our membership fees are very modest considering the facilities provided by the Club.
The Club is democratically run with the aim of minimizing conflict that often arises in clubs. Decisions for the JWSFC are made by all the members, not just those that turn up to meetings.
The Committee's role is to provide leadership and to ensure that every member gets to vote on issues. We seek consensus rather than a simple majority.
We don't have rules in this club, but we do have recommended practices. We write down the recommended practices in an administration manual so that it is clear what is expected of every member.
Lastly we recognize those people and organizations that help us enjoy the passion of aviation and in return we try to help others.
We also support charity. Each social event raises money for the Club and for charity. We feel privileged to be able to engage in aviation at Heck Field and want to help others less fortunate than ourselves.
Special thanks go to the Heck Family for their generosity in supporting the JWSFC and for allowing aviators to use their private airfield.
Please let the Secretary know what changes you think are required to the website.
Drop in for a quick chat at the Pilot's Shed every second Thursday nights to learn more about the club.
Other than the Pilot Shed nights, by appointment only.
